There’s one thing all Babson students can agree on—we like to eat! Although there are many great restaurant options in Needham/Wellesley, continue reading to see which places are the hidden gems and student favorites!
Breakfast & Brunch
Cocobeet
Cocobeet is a fairly new restaurant, serving the newest craze of Acai Bowls. Initially, I was hesitant to try this new fad, but I promise you, the trip to Cocobeet, located nearby in Wellesley, is necessary. With different options for acai bowls, avocado toast, smoothies, and all the juices you could possibly want, Cocobeet is a healthy treat that will fill you up easily. Plus, you can even grab a fresh salad for your lunch there too!
Maugus Restaurant
If you have a long morning to spend at Babson, I highly recommend going to Maugus. They are a quaint hole-in-the-wall type of diner, complete with a warm atmosphere and some of the best food you can eat. Maugus is the perfect start to the day with plenty of breakfast options from eggs to omelettes to pancakes. Pro-tip: ask to add walnuts in your chocolate chip pancakes!
Café Fresh
Before you head out of town, the best valued meal is undoubtedly a bagel at Café Fresh in Needham. Their bagels are made fresh daily and they have perfected the balance of crispy outside to soft inside. Whether you choose to go with just butter or an actual breakfast sandwich, trust me when I say you are going to want to come back.
Lunch & Dinner
Volante Farms
Volante is an easy walk from Babson, which is great for students who don’t have cars on campus. Not only does Volante sell fresh salads and sandwiches, their ice cream (only in the summer, sorry folks) is great to cool down on a hot summer day. Better yet, Volante was started by a Babson Alumni.
Linden Store
While I do love Volante, I also love to get off campus when I can and eat at the Linden Store. They have such a wide variety of delicious subs made to order, and the bread from Linden is so soft. It seems like a crazy and hectic sandwich deli, but I promise you, it’s worth it.
The Local
Another convenient restaurant to walk to from Babson is The Local. It’s hard to describe what type of food is at The Local because they have such a wide variety: rice bowls, hamburgers, fried pickles, you name it! Regardless, there’s more than enough options for hungry travelers and it’s a great place to go to celebrate the end of midterms.
Sweet Basil
Located in downtown Needham, Sweet Basil is a quaint Italian restaurant with a family feel. It’s a comfortable sit-down restaurant, and their servings provide more than enough for dinner and tomorrow’s lunch! It’s a busy restaurant in the evenings, so make sure to call ahead and get a reservation.
Singh’s Café
One of my favorite things about Needham/Wellesley is that they have so many diverse food choices. Singh’s Café is an Indian restaurant (with some Westernized meals for the picky eaters in your group) with quick service and delicious results. The food isn’t too spicy and there are plenty of options to choose from. They’re great for a change of pace and a different meal!

Truly’s
Truly’s, formerly Truly Yogurt, is the best place nearby to get ice cream. They have a wide variety of soft and hard serve, as well as many delicious frozen yogurt flavors. A special treat at Truly’s is the flavor of the day. It is just a quick drive or 25 minute walk from campus, and once you go to Truly’s, you’ll understand why everyone keeps coming back! The lines may be long, but it’s worth it.
Quebrada Baking Company
Quebrada, located right in Wellesley, is a delicious bakery offering tons of pastries, treats, and even savory baked goods! Right when you walk in, the smell of sweets and fresh baked bread greets you. My personal favorite is the homemade chocolate croissants, but the cupcakes are also a staple for any special occasion or celebration.
