Although there are many great restaurant options in Needham and Wellesley, these are the hidden gems and student favorites.
Breakfast
Cocobeet
Just on the edge of campus, Cocobeet caters to the health-conscious, and the food is really good. With different options for acai bowls, avocado toast, smoothies, and all the juices you could possibly want, Cocobeet is a healthy treat that will fill you up easily. Plus, you can even grab a fresh salad for your lunch!
Maugus Restaurant
Maugus is a quaint hole-in-the-wall type of diner, complete with a warm atmosphere and some of the best food you can eat. Maugus is the perfect start to the day with plenty of breakfast options from eggs to omelettes to pancakes. Pro-tip: ask to add walnuts in your chocolate chip pancakes!
Renee’s Kitchen (Natick)
Just over a mile from campus as you head towards Natick, Renee’s Kitchen offers homemade baked goods and fresh coffee in the morning, lunch and dinners to go ~ with rotating daily specials. It’s a nice change from the dining halls!
Lunch and Dinner
Tutto Italiano
A lunch standout within walking distance from campus, Tutto Italiano offers amazing sandwiches and on the weekends, the pizza and anything else the owner prepares are delicious. Do not miss the meatball sub (the best in town) or mozzarella, basil and tomato sandwich with/without prosciutto. Their chicken parm is also amazing – the shop is filled with Italian specialties imported straight from Italy.
Linden Store and Deli
Another lunch standout not too far from campus is the Linden Store. They have such a wide variety of delicious subs made to order, and the bread from Linden is so soft. It seems like a crazy and hectic sandwich deli, but I promise you, it’s worth it.
Truly’s Yogurt
Truly’s Yogurt has some of the best ice cream and frozen yogurt around – best part is it’s only a 10-15 minute walk from campus just beyond downtown Wellesley.
If Someone Else is Buying
Alta Strada
If your parents are in town, this is the place to go for delicious Italian food by acclaimed chef, Michael Schlow. It’s also walking distance from campus.
Door No 7
A little further away but less than a mile from campus is another good dinner spot when parents are in town. Go here for a delicious American fare, a raw bar — and a top-notch burger too!
